Hennessy’s pedigree combines elite warmblood jumping performance with high quality “black-type” Thoroughbred speed and refinement. By breeding Check In with Foxy Lady the offspring will inherit the Cor de la Bryere jumping technique whilst utilising the blood from the dam’s side to ensure they are fast across the ground and sensitive to the rails.

His sire, Check In (Cordalme Z x Lord Pezi x Ile De Bourbon), is a highly successful showjumper who has competed in numerous 5* World Cups and World Cup Equestrian Games. In 2005 he became the OS Reserve Champion Stallion and later winner of a Bundeschampionate qualifier with a score of 9.2. In addition to Check In’s impressive career achievements he also demonstrates strong hereditary power having already produced an OS-Champion Mare, 4 state premium daughters and 60 offspring jumping at 1.40m and above, 5 of which are competing at 1.60m and above. Hennessy is paternal sibling to Fischer Chelsea who won at 1.60m with Michael Jung and Che Fantastica who competed in 1.60m with Philipp Weishaupt.

Hennessy’s grandsire Cordalme Z is one of the most influential stallions in modern breeding, known for passing on extreme scope and a competitive temperament. Sire of Cordalme Z, Cor de la Bryere, who is credited with revolutionising the modern jumping technique, specifically the bascule. Via Check In’s dam, Hennessy has the blood of Lord Pezi, adding another layer of proven performance and is known for producing tall, athletic horses with powerful hindquarters.

His dam Foxy Lady is sired by Foxwedge, a Group 1 winning sprinter and Champion sire who brings speed and power. Through Foxwedge Hennessy has the influence of Fastneck rock who produces elite athleticism. His dam sire, Grand Lodge, contributed a foundation of elegance and rideability to his pedigree. While on Hennessy’s dam line Mr. Prospector is one of the most influential sires in history, known for incredible conformation and speed, which translates to better balance and agility in the showjumping ring. Hennessy’s maternal great-grand sire, Grand Lodge, was officially rated the best two year old in Europe during 1993. He had a very successful stud career at the Coolmore Stud and sired winners of over 600 races including Sinndar who won The Derby, Irish Derby Stakes and Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in the same year and Queen’s Logic who is notable for winning the title of European Champion Two Year Old Filly of 2001 before retiring undefeated.
